My Cal AI Fitness Tracker · Last updated October 14, 2026

This policy explains what information My Cal AI Fitness Tracker ("the App", "we", "us") collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. The App is developed and operated by an independent developer, not a company.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated by using the App, and limited information from optional integrations you turn on yourself.

How your entries are processed by AI

When you type a food or exercise entry (and optionally attach a photo), the text and photo are sent, through our secure servers on Google Cloud, to Google's AI services to estimate calories and macronutrients. This processing happens on Google's servers under Google's Privacy Policy. AI-generated estimates may be inaccurate — the App is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice; consult a professional for health decisions.

How we use your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your health or fitness data for advertising targeting.

Where your data is stored, and who we share it with

Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore database and Firebase Authentication), which runs on Google Cloud infrastructure. We share data only with the service providers needed to run the App, each under their own privacy terms:

We do not sell personal information that identifies you, and we do not share your data with data brokers. To cover the costs of running the App we may in future use aggregated or de-identified insights, offer sponsor- or partner-supported features, and, for Premium members, show third-party health professionals (such as doctors and nutritionists) so you can contact them directly. If this ever involves sharing personal or health-related data, or using your location (only with your permission), we will ask for your consent where the law requires it and update this policy first.

If we sell, merge or transfer the App or the company, your data may be transferred to the new owner, who must keep honouring this policy. We will tell you beforehand where the law requires, and you can delete your account at any time.

Data retention

We keep your account data — profile details, logs, weight history, and feedback — for as long as your account remains active, so the App can show your history and trends. Crash/diagnostic data from Firebase Crashlytics is retained for up to 90 days. Photos you attach for AI analysis are not stored; they are processed and then discarded, and only the resulting nutrition estimate is kept.

You can delete your account and its data at any time, from inside the App or by email — see Delete My Account for exact steps. Deletion through the App is immediate; email requests are completed within 24–48 hours. When your account is deleted, your profile, logs, weight history, feedback messages, and sign-in record are permanently erased. The only thing that survives is our internal AI-cost ledger, and even there we strip out your account identifier first, so what remains is an anonymous number that can no longer be linked back to you or any individual.

Data security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including access rules that restrict your data to your own account and encrypted connections between the App and our servers. That said, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security against all possible breaches or unauthorized access.

Your rights and account deletion

You can request that your account and data be deleted at any time, whether or not you still have the App installed. See our Delete My Account page for exact steps and what's deleted.

Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

International data transfers

Because we use Google Cloud infrastructure, your information may be processed on servers located outside your own country. By using the App, you consent to this transfer and processing.

Changes to this policy

We may update these Terms and Conditions, the Privacy Policy and the Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. By agreeing to them once, and by continuing to use the App afterwards, you accept the updated versions as they take effect, including future changes. We will update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, tell you in the App or by another reasonable means. If you do not agree to a change, stop using the App, cancel your subscription before its next renewal and delete your account. Where the law requires your fresh consent to a new use of your personal data, we will ask for it.
